The increasing water shortage has forced manufacturers to adopt new technologies for saving water, which can be used in the future. Water is the most precious natural resource as there is no replacement for water. One such technology used for saving water is a Water Level Sensor. A water level sensor is an equipment used to measure water levels in water containers such as water tanks, rivers, lakes, etc. These sensors can be used in homes to make people aware of the water level in their water tanks. This also notifies when the water in the water tank reaches beyond the specified limit so that the user can switch off the motor and avoid the water from overflowing. Apart from this, there are several other uses of water level controllers as well.
Some of them include:
It is used in water tanks to control the water level to stop the water from overflowing.
It can automatically turn on/off the water pump if the water exceeds the specified level or reaches below the specified water level.
It can be used in factories, buildings, apartments, commercial complexes, homes, etc., to know the water level so that the wastage or shortage of water can be avoided.
The water level sensor also helps save electricity and money as it helps avoid the extra running of water pumps that consume electricity and result in additional expenses.
Thus, every home and commercial building must have a Water Level Controller to avoid water wastage. Water level sensors have a riveting design and construction to make sure that the program runs successfully and fulfills its motto.
Let's understand the design of the water level controller through some points :
The sensor part :
This is an essential part of the water level sensor as it helps in sensing the level of water in the tank and fills the tank to the desired level only. It is generally fixed in the tank with nuts and bolts, and the level of the water tank must be set through the digital input. The sensor part works when the water tank is full to the specified limit or empty below the specified level.
The circuit part :
The circuit part plays a vital role in switching on the motor or switching it off when the water level goes beyond the specified limit or goes above the specified limit so that there is no wastage of water or shortage of water. The unit provides information regarding the water level as it comprises the module brain, where all the inputs are fed from various sensors.
The power supply :
This part of the water level controller helps convert the A/C voltage to a regulated voltage of 12V and supplies power to the water level sensor. It plays an essential role as without the power supply water level sensor won't work. The circuit part of the water level sensor also helps in automatically switching on the power supply and switching it off when the tanks get filled.
The notification part :
This part is responsible for notifying the user regarding the level of water in the water tank. It makes the sound when the tank is full of water and plays a buzzer when it is beyond a specified level. It also sends notifications on the phones of the users to let them know the level of water in their tanks.
Thus, it is crucial for every household, factory, building, apartment, commercial complex, etc., to have a water level sensor as it helps save water and manage water judiciously. Everyone should take efforts to conserve water as it is a precious resource for all living creatures.
